Southern Bodies Fitness Center to host second annual “Lifting the Holiday Spirits” Charity Powerlifting Meet December 13

December 8, 2025
Matthew Crumley,

TIFTON, Ga. – A Tifton gym is bringing strength and holiday cheer together once again. Southern Bodies Fitness Center will host its second annual “Lifting the Holiday Spirits” Charity Powerlifting Meet on Saturday, December 13, at its facility on West 2nd Street.

Weigh-ins begin at 9 a.m., and the competition officially starts at 10 a.m. Lifters will compete in three classic events: the squat, bench press, and deadlift.

The event has a mission beyond the platform. 100% of the $25 entry fee goes toward a Christmas shopping trip for disadvantaged youth in the community. Organizers say lifters of all experience levels are welcome, whether it’s someone’s first meet or their fiftieth.

And for those wanting to compete, today is the final day to register.

Anyone who prefers to cheer from the sidelines is also encouraged to come out and support the athletes while helping raise funds for local kids.

Participants can register online through the online sign-up form, and anyone needing additional information can reach Southern Bodies directly at (229) 386-1202 or southernbodies604@gmail.com.
