Dem socialist takes on longtime Colorado incumbent in Tuesday primary

Melat Kiros, Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress in Colorado reacts to the “socialist surge” saying you must actually “progress the movement” not just say you’re a progressive. She says working class families want and need new leadership. The 29-year-old has stirred controversy with her hard-left policy positions, which include abolishing ICE and Medicare for all. She was fired from a law firm after arguing that calling for the elimination of Israel is not antisemitic. Kiros is challenging fifteen-term incumbent Democratic Rep. Diana Degette.
