Flooding reports across Southwest Georgia, officials searching for Albany city employee after reportedly falling into Flint River

ALBANY, Ga. – The following is a list of flooding reports from across southwest Georgia. There are reports of road closures and roads covered with water. Remember, turn around, don’t drown when you encounter flooded roads.

There is also reports of an Albany city employee reported missing after falling into the Flint River. CBS 44’s Brian Roche is working to learn more details.

The Albany Police Department would like to inform the public to avoid the area of 100 block of Front Street. The Albany Police Department, The Albany Fire Department, The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) are searching for a Albany city employee after falling into the Flint River.

Updates will be provided once new information becomes available for release.

Flooding reports in Albany:
Flooding of roadway at West Highland Avenue and South Slappey Blvd.
1000 Block of Liberty Expressway flooded near Holly Drive.
Flooding of roadway at West Oglethorpe and South Monroe.
Flooding of the 1500 block of West 3rd Avenue.

Flooding reports in Lee Co.
Water over the road at Mossy Dell Road at GA-32. Road is reported closed.
GA-32 flooded and reported closed at Graves Spring Road.

Flooding reported in Terrell Co.
Picture from EM showing much of Dawson St flooded more than a foot deep. Flooding extends from near Cranberry Drive to Hicks Road. Numerous drainage culverts are full or overflowing throughout the county south of US-82.

Flooding reports in Calhoun Co.
Several roads reported flooded across the county.
Drainage pond overflowed embankment and water is now covering a portion of GA Highway 45. Water about 6-8 inches deep.

Water over roadways in and around Blakely.
