HEALTH MINUTE: WATCH FOR NEW WORLD SCREWWORM SIGNS

There have now been sixteen New World screwworm infections reported in U.S. animals, as of today. The CDC says there have been no locally acquired cases reported in humans, and the risk to people remains low, but the parasitic fly can infect humans in areas where the insects are circulating, and the agency is asking people to watch out for symptoms.
