Senator Tim Scott: I still saw my absent dad ‘through rose-colored glasses’
On this Father’s Day, Senator Tim Scott tells Jake Tapper that even though his father left he was he was 7 years old, “I don’t know very many kids who don’t want to make their dads proud. I think that there’s a misnomer and a misperception that a kid who’s separated from their father does not yearn for their father’s approval. That’s just the way it is.” Scott added, “having a grandfather who was there was really important.”
