Empowerment Pathways Puts Troubled Youth Back on Track
GEORGIA – Young adults who can’t seem to catch a break may have just caught one in south Georgia. Young men and women between the ages of 16 to 24 can take advantage of a free opportunity to earn their GEDs, learn basic construction skills, and become career ready.
The program, called Empowerment Pathways YouthBuild is now accepting appointments for interviews. This opportunity includes leadership training, job placement, college placement assistance and more. The best part is that participants can earn while they learn.
Participants divide their time between the construction site and the YouthBuild alternative school. Strong emphasis is placed on leadership development, community service, and the creation of a positive mini-community committed to success.
Youth must be a member of a disadvantaged population such as having a low-income family, being in foster care, or being a youth offender to participate.
