Dougherty County Police Department spreads holiday cheer with “Secret Santa Traffic Stops”
ALBANY, Ga. — Motorists traveling through Dougherty County on Christmas Eve received an unexpected and heartwarming surprise as the Dougherty County Police Department conducted “Secret Santa Traffic Stops,” a holiday-themed initiative focused on goodwill and community engagement.
During the special operation, officers conducted warning-only traffic stops and instead of issuing citations, officers surprised drivers with a stuffed reindeer and a friendly reminder to drive safely during the holiday season.
The initiative was designed to reinforce positive interactions between officers and the community while promoting roadway safety during one of the busiest travel periods of the year.
“These stops were all about spreading cheer, encouraging safe driving and reminding residents that our officers are here to serve and protect,” said a department spokesperson. “Seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter made this a meaningful way to connect with the community.”
The Dougherty County Police Department wishes all residents a safe and joyful holiday season and encourages motorists to continue practicing safe driving habits throughout the year.
