Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Arts Council to host “A Good Old-Fashioned Carnegie Christmas” on Saturday

FITZGERALD, Ga. – Families looking for a warm, nostalgic holiday experience will find it at the Carnegie Center this season. The Fitzgerald-Ben Hill Arts Council is inviting the community to its “Good Old-Fashioned Carnegie Christmas” celebration on Saturday, December 20 at 6 p.m. at the historic Carnegie Center, located at 120 South Lee Street.

Guests can enjoy an evening filled with Christmas charm, complete with live holiday music, festive treats, twinkling lights, decorated trees, and a welcoming, cozy atmosphere inside one of Fitzgerald’s most iconic buildings. The event also marks the opening of a new art exhibit featuring works by Edna Garrett and Janice Williams, offering attendees a chance to explore creativity rooted in the local community.

Organizers say the annual celebration is meant to bring people together, encourage guests to slow down, and enjoy the warmth of the season in a classic, old-fashioned setting. The event is family-friendly and free to attend, making it an ideal outing for families, couples, or anyone looking to soak in some holiday spirit.

In addition to the evening’s festivities, visitors can also enjoy “A Very Persnickety Christmas,” a seasonal Persnickety’s Bows & Wreaths pop-up shop inside the Carnegie Center. The pop-up features handcrafted wreaths and bows for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Easter, all available for purchase now through December. Organizers say even more designs will debut during the December 20 exhibit opening, giving guests a chance to shop unique, locally crafted decorations while supporting the arts community.
