City of Albany Celebration of Lights Christmas Parade Route Shortened: Road Closures Changed

ALBANY, Ga. – As the City of Albany prepares for its rescheduled 35th Annual Celebration of Lights, several roads will be blocked off for the parade and Christmas Village. Below is a list of the road closures leading up to the parade on Saturday, December 13, 2025.

• Pine Avenue will be closed from the west side of N. Monroe Street and the east side of
N. Washington Street starting at noon on Saturday.

  • Monroe Street will be blocked on the south side and Pine Avenue will be blocked
    on the west side, starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
  • Also starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Pine Avenue will be blocked on the east and
    west sides of Jefferson Street.
  • Washington Street will be blocked on the south side and Pine Avenue on the east
    side starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
  • Jefferson Street (SR-91) will be closed to north and south traffic at 4 p.m., and
    detour routes will be signed to guide drivers around the closure.

• Starting Friday night, Jackson Street will be closed from the south side of Pine Avenue
to the north side of Broad Avenue. At 4 p.m. on Saturday, the Jackson Street road closure
on the south side of Pine Avenue will be moved to the north side of Pine Avenue for the
parade. The alleys will remain open for traffic and available from Broad Avenue and Flint
Avenue.

• The parking lot directly in front of the Judicial Building on Pine Avenue will be blocked
off beginning Thursday, December 11, at 5 p.m.

• Broad Avenue, Harding Street, and Flint Avenue will be used to detour around the parade
while the road closures are active.
