While we were all looking forward to the magic of the 35th Annual Celebration of Lights Christmas Parade this Saturday, Mother Nature has other plans. Due to an unfavorable weather forecast with rain and unusually chilly temperatures headed our way—the City of Albany has decided to postpone the parade to Saturday, December 13.

But don’t worry—the holiday spirit is still shining bright! This new date gives us an extra week to get even more festive, prepare those dazzling floats, polish those performances, and spread even more Christmas cheer!

All event details will remain the same, including time, location, and activities full of holiday wonder:

• Christmas Village opens at 4 p.m. on Jackson Street, just north of Pine Avenue—perfect for shopping, snacking, and enjoying the sights and sounds of the season.

• Live entertainment begins at 4:45 p.m. in front of the Government Building at 222 Pine Avenue—bring your family and friends for a joyful evening of music and merriment!

• Parade lineup starts at 724 Pine Avenue (Pine at Wesco), and we’ll follow the same magical route down Pine Avenue to Washington Street, lighting up Downtown Albany
