City of Moultrie Mourns the Passing of Battalion Chief Bo Sprunger

MOULTRIE, Ga. – City of Moultrie Mourns the Passing of Battalion Chief Bo Sprunger

When we heard the news of Battalion Chief Bo Sprunger’s passing, it was very difficult to find the right words to express the heartache our organization felt. Today, there is an emptiness and void amongst our employees. We are missing a piece of our heart, but we chose to smile as we remember all the good times we shared with Bo.

For decades, Bo dedicated his life to protecting the people of Moultrie. From his earliest days in the fire service to his role as Battalion Chief, he served with integrity, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to others. His steady leadership, deep love for his team, and willingness to answer calls day and night made him not only an exceptional firefighter but a beloved figure throughout our city.

Fire Chief Chad Kilgore shared, “Bo embodied what it means to serve. He was like a brother and the kind of leader who inspired everyone around him, not just with words, but with how he lived. He always put others first. Our department, and our entire community, is better because of him.”

Battalion Chief Sprunger’s legacy is one of courage, humility, and selfless service, one that will continue to impact Moultrie for generations.

To Dianne and family, our entire organization is thinking and praying for you during this time.

Battalion Chief Bo Sprunger is receiving full firefighter honors.
