Crisp Co. Sheriff’s Office OneBlood drive in memory of deputy Tyee Browne

CORDELE, Ga. – Today, OneBlood’s Big Red Bus was stationed at the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, inviting community members to donate blood in memory and honor of Crisp-17 Deputy Tyee Browne.

In addition to the blood drive, the event featured complimentary wellness check-ups for donors, offering a comprehensive health assessment alongside the opportunity to give back.

Haley Wade, Public Information Officer for the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, discussed the significance of this event and the lasting impact Deputy Browne has on the Crisp county community.

“We are incredibly honored that that one blood chose us and they came out today. We were incredibly excited to host them in honor of Deputy Tyee Browne. We even had Miss Christine Brown stop by, which is Deputy Tyee’s mom. And, it’s always touching when she visits and she can see how we continue to memorialize her son,” said Haley Wade, Public Information Office, Crisp Co. Sheriff’s Office.

“We’ve really seen the community once again come through for us. They have shown us even a year later that Deputy Tyee Browne, he meant something to them. We know we feel that impact daily and we know what he means to us. But, it has been so impressive to see community members come out for his memorial for the roadside dedication and to come out and give blood today in his memory,” said Wade.

“We are incredibly honored, we’re incredibly humbled that they continue to show their law enforcement family support. And, that honestly means the world to Deputy Browne’s family. It’s incredibly important that we, as much as them know he’s not forgotten that that his sacrifice means something to the men and women of Crisp county. And, I think we see that in how they choose to continue to show up and honor him,” said Wade.
