Teen killed in Sylvester overnight shooting, GBI investigating

SYLVESTER, Ga. – At around 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 15 officers discovered a teen female shot and killed on Shipp Lane.

Her stepmother says the victim is 16-years-old, contrary to initial reports by officials.

The Sylvester Police Department has turned the investigation over to the GBI.

The victim’s body will be transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Macon, but it is unclear when she will be taken there.
