Colquitt Co. General Primary election results

MOULTRIE, Ga. – With 19 precincts and thousands of registered voters participating, this election has been a significant event for one of south Georgia’s largest counties.

Colquitt county citizens made their presence known at the polls, with over 3,000 votes casted for more than ten positions.

One prominent race involved the Board of Education seats for District and the Court of Appeals.

Beth Cannon has won the seat in District 6 with 100% of the votes, as the sole candidate in the race.

Meanwhile in District 2, Brad Gregory will continue his tenure with the Board of Education, securing 51.53% of the votes in a closely contested race.

In District 3, Matthew Clifton emerged victorious, winning by over 200 votes with 64.69% of the total votes.

The Court of Appeals saw six out of 7 races with single candidates. The only contested race featured Jeff Davis and Tabitha Ponder, with Jeff Davis winning comfortably, securing 2,434 out of the 3,331 total votes.

With results across several districts and notable outcomes in both contested and uncontested races, the future leadership of Colquitt county is taking shape.
