Moultrie Bank & Trust holds grand opening ceremony

MOULTRIE, Ga. – Moultrie Bank and Trust hosts a grand opening, signaling a significant development in local banking.

The establishment celebrated its grand opening with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, inviting residents to tour the facility and indulge in a complimentary lunch.

Donna Lott, CEO of Moultrie Bank & Trust, shares insights into the journey leading to the opening of their new facility.

“Moultrie Bank & Trust has been on quite the journey since the summer of 2021 when we filed an application with the state for De Novo Bank. We opened on May 9th, 2022, and here we are in our brand new building. We are so happy with all the support from Moultrie only the local bank. We’ve got 486 shareholders that have cheered us along. A great group of directors, our staff, we’re 15 strong we enjoy every minute of it. We are career community bankers and just want to serve our community and offer them the banking services they deserve,” said Donna Lott, CEO of Moultrie Bank & Trust.

Moultrie Bank & Trust has planned a series of celebratory activities throughout the week. The festivities include a range of attractions such as mini golf, delectable sweet treats, and exciting giveaways.

“We have kicked things off with our Chamber ribbon cutting. We just encourage the community to stop by, meet our staff, tour our building, and get to know everyone tomorrow morning. We’ll get things started early at 8 a.m. with biscuits and banking again, another opportunity to come in early, meet our staff, open accounts, and talk to anyone about a lending opportunity. We will have mini golf and Kona Ice and then Friday morning we will finish things out with a catered lunch from Rocco’s food truck from 11 to two. And, yet again, it’s just all encouraging the community to come out and get to know us, and we want to get to know you. That’s what banking is all about,” said Lott.

Donna Lott elaborates on the importance of both staff and local banking.

“Our staff here, all are career community bankers and they felt there was a certain level of service that was needed that customers deserved and they took the opportunity to join us. We want to know you by name. We’re going to answer our telephone here and all your deposit dollars stay here in this area to help loan growth and build and develop our communities here in Moultrie, in the outlying communities, community-owned and community-managed, we’re able to make timely, quick decisions for any loan demand. Everyone’s here, everyone’s local, and that’s what we pride ourselves on. The need and desire for quick turnaround, face-to-face conversations, and understanding of what was truly needed in this community,” said Lott.
