8th annual Watermelon Capital Hot Air Balloon Festival returns this weekend to Cordele

CORDELE, Ga. – Back for the eighth year, balloons once again fill the skies over Cordele and Crisp county! This weekend, thirty hot air balloons and their crews from across the country will gather in Cordele today through the 7th for the festivities.

The balloons will take flight over the Lake Blackshear area from the Georgia Veterans State Park, with a hot air balloon glow event scheduled at dusk. Tethered rides will also be available each evening at 5 p.m. For those interested in experiencing the balloons up close while staying on the ground.
