Crisp Co. 4-H and FFA students showcase finest steers, heifers, and hogs at annual Junior Livestock Show

CORDELE, Ga. – In other local news, the Crisp County Junior Livestock Show took place Wednesday at the J.W. Mann show barn in Cordele.

Keeping tradition, Crisp County students, from Pre-K to Seniors, showcased their finest hogs, heifers, and steers. Show judge Todd Wall judged various showmanship classes and named the champions.

We’d like to congratulate all participants of this event, as well as Kylee Odom, who exhibited both the Grand and Reserve Champion Hogs, and Mary Richard Dean, who showcased the Grand Champion Heifer and Grand Champion Steer.

Meherrin AG bought the Grand Champion Hog for $5.50 per pound, and Arabi Feed and Grain acquired the Reserve Champion Hog at $4.75 per pound. The steer and heifer were not auctioned off.

You can watch full coverage of this timeless tradition on WSST-TV this Sunday, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
