The Dougherty County Police Department (DCPD), Albany Police Department (APD), and the Albany Fire Department (AFD), will be lined up with all their cars and equipment. So, the kids will get a chance to look at that and meet them. We have vendors that will be out, people will be out to register to vote. Of course, we got our Olive Z Cash machine, the participants will have an opportunity to get in and win cash and prizes,” said Velvet Poole, Community Events Superintendent, ARPD.
Velvet Poole, Community Events Superintendent for the Albany Recreation and Parks Department, sheds light on the sponsors of the upcoming easter egg hunt and their significant contributions.
“We have about 15 different sponsors that help us with this event. This is not the city Albany event alone. Olive Broadcasting, the Divine Nine here in Albany. Minister wives and minister widows. We have Cutliff Grove Baptist Church that has helped out. So, we have so many partners that come out to help with this event. Each organization has stuff there eggs with everything besides chocolate and peanut. So, you don’t even know what gift you’re going to have. We also have companies that have donated gift cards, so some of the golden eggs will have gift cards in it. And, we have about 40 easter baskets to give out. So, if you find a golden egg, you may be the lucky person to get either the bags, gift cards, or even cash,” said Poole.

“Look forward to seeing the community. Bring all your family friends that come out to hang out and after, if you want to do a picnic in the park we’ll love to have you,” said Poole.
