City of Albany offering free tours of Albany Civil Rights Movement Museum

ALBANY, Ga. – The City of Albany is proud to sponsor free tours of the Albany Civil Rights Movement Museum, extending a warm invitation for all to partake in the guided tour and embark on a journey of historical enrichment.

This unique opportunity invites everyone to immerse themselves in the historical experience of Albany, offering insights into life before and after the Civil Rights Movement.

At the forefront of preserving Albany’s rich history, the Albany Civil Rights Institute fulfills its mission as a valuable educational resource.

Angela Calhoun, Assistant to the City Manager, shares insights on the significance of this initiative, stating, “The museum is a representation of some of the major events that occurred right here in our community. It is important for all of us to know the sacrifices made so that we can continue to press forward to secure our children’s future.”

Free tours are scheduled for Saturday, February 24th, from 10 am to 5 pm.
