Turner Co. Sheriff’s Office apprehend suspicious person who fled on foot during traffic stop in Crisp Co.

ASHBURN, Ga. – On January 24, 2024, at approximately 3:45 P.M., a Crisp County Sheriff’s Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a Dodge van. However, the driver failed to stop. The incident occurred in the Hawpond area and ended with the driver fleeing on foot in Turner County.

Turner County Sheriff’s Office apprehended the subject this morning.

“We appreciate the collaborative efforts of our neighboring law enforcement agencies and the Georgia State Patrol,” stated Crisp County Sheriff Billy Hancock.

“We would like to thank our Turner County deputies, Georgia State Patrol and Crisp County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the ground search as well as the citizens around that area that called in this morning upon seeing a suspicious person. We couldn’t have done it without the support of surrounding agencies and our observant citizens!” said Turner County Sheriff Andy Hester.
