Dr. Jerry Baker becomes Interim Principal of Tift County High School, Tift BOE announces

TIFTON, Ga. – According to a post on the Tift County Schools Facebook Page, Dr. Jerry Baker will assume the role of Interim Principal of Tift County High School on Thursday, January 25, 2024.

The school board indicated that “Dr. Baker will remain in this position throughout the remainder of the school year or until such time that a permanent replacement is hired for this position. The search for this position will begin immediately. We expect the vacancy to be posted later this week.”

The school board also said in a separate Facebook post that they continue the search for the next Tift County Football Head Coach, as well.

“We are pleased to announce that Dr. Jerry Baker will assume the role of Interim Principal of Tift County High School beginning Thursday, January 25, 2024. During his time with Tift County Schools, Dr. Baker has proven his dedication to this system and community. He has demonstrated a vast knowledge of organizational systems and their processes and a commitment to providing a safe learning environment for our students.”

“Dr. Baker believes that together we must step up to the challenges we face and that we must be committed to the educational experiences of students at all grade levels. He is proud of the students at TCHS and their desire to learn and is dedicated to providing the leadership necessary in this position.”
