44th Annual City-wide MLK Breakfast (H.E.A.R.T. Organization and P&G) to be held on Monday

ALBANY, Ga. – In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., H.E.A.R.T. Organization, Inc. Celebrates The 44th Annual MLK Breakfast “Building the Beloved Community” on
Monday, January 15, 2024 7:30 A.M. @ Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 901 S. Westover Blvd., Albany, GA.

This signature event continues to gather the community and promote the need for social harmony by servicing those less fortunate. The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemorative Breakfast began with a small group of concerned employees of the Albany Procter & Gamble plant in 1980 at a Shoney’s east restaurant. It has since catapulted to occupying one of the largest facilities in Albany (Mt. Zion Baptist Church) with over 1,500 in attendance each year and commanding its own 100-member MLK Community Mass Choir. The Mass Choir is comprised of choir members from many different Churches, high school and college students, pastors, business leaders, musicians and recording artists from across the State of Georgia. It is attended and supported by community leaders, civic organizations, businesses and residents throughout Southwest Georgia. They see this event as an opportunity to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. while supporting an organization that has proven to be fiducially responsible in helping those in need.

This year we are excited that our keynote speaker Werhner V. Washington, retired P&G Albany Plant Manager, is coming back to inspire us in our endeavors to “Building the Beloved Community.”

Please join us in celebrating Dr. King’s 95th Birthday and “44 years of the HEART Organization, Inc. improving lives!” in the community.
