“I think women in leadership is incredibly important in general. We are 50% of the population. But, I think what women do in the community, leadership in all different areas, making sure that women know that there is not a limited number of seats at the table. And, that when we help other women succeed, it’s like lighting another candle. You’re flame doesn’t diminish when you light someone else’s,” said Deb Angerami, CEO of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Keynote speaker of Propel and CEO of Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Deb Angerami, delves into the topic of authentic leadership.

“We have something incredibly unique as females that we need to share. So, coming into your own, kind of dropping the insecurities. Being able to be confident and authentic, and know what you do well, but also being able to say, “I need to surround myself with somebody who is an expert in this,” because I may not do it as well, but that takes confidence. When you’re authentic, when you know your strengths and weaknesses; and you feel like you don’t have to project a facade, that’s a birth place of authenticity. When you’re authentic, I really believe that the universe will rise up to meet you,” said Angerami.

And, Deb has a heartfelt message for all young women…

“So, I think for our young females, ask for what you want. Get clear about what you want. Learn from other people and don’t let anyone else’s opinion of you define your future,” said Angerami.
