Super Bowl Champ Malcom Mitchell Visits Moultrie-Colquitt County Library Thursday

Tracy Bishop,

MOULTRIE, Ga. – Super Bowl Champion Malcolm Mitchell is stopping by Moultrie-Colquitt County Library on Thursday, October 15th, and the library is hosting a special storytime before the event.

They will be reading Malcolm Mitchell’s book, The Magician’s Hat, and creating a fun craft inspired by the story. Join us for a little reading, a little creativity, and a magical start to an exciting afternoon with Malcolm Mitchell!

Mitchell was not a strong reader when he began college and read at a middle-school level. He later developed an interest in reading, joined a women’s reading club, and promoted literacy among youth. He has said that he is more proud of his progress in reading than of playing in and later winning the Super Bowl.

In 2016, Mitchell released his first book, The Magician’s Hat. This children’s picture book features David, the Magician, who loves to perform magic. David knows the magical power of books, which can explore dreams and develop creativity. After he ended his NFL career in 2019, Mitchell started reading to children with children’s books, which include some of his own.

Storytime begins at 4:00 p.m., followed by Malcolm Mitchell’s visit at 4:30. Moultrie-Colquitt County Library is located at 204 5th Street Southeast in Moultrie. For more information about this fun afternoon, call 229-985-6540 or email mccls@mccls.org.
