Wilcox Co. Sheriff Robert Rodgers dies in automobile accident Tuesday
WILCOX, Co., Ga. – In a story that we first reported at 6 p.m. Tuesday night, Wilcox County’s Sheriff, Robert Rodgers, died in an automobile accident Tuesday afternoon in Wilcox county.

On Wednesday, members of the Wilcox county law enforcement community and other first responders escorted Sheriff Rodgers back home to Wilcox county.
Crisp County first responders lined the route in honor of Sheriff Rodgers.
He was elected Sheriff of Wilcox county in 2016 and was into his second term. Rodgers had served 15 years in law enforcement prior to being elected Sheriff, he was 52-years-old.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
