Ruth’s Cottage says their mission is to provide healing to those who are going through domestic violence.

“Think of your worst day, your absolute worst day you want someone around you, you need comfort, you need someone to hold your hand that’s what our advocates do,” said Myers.

And, the organization is looking for additional advocates to help change a person’s life

“Calm, strong wielded, independent, who’s going to come in and make a difference,” said Myers.

Ruth’s Cottage wants good listeners on their team…

“The biggest thing is that we take time to listen to that individual hear their story and meet them where they are in that moment,” said Myers.

Because in doing that…

“I’m seeing individuals that have never got the chance to feel comfortable,” said Myers.

The starting pay for an advocate is 15 dollars per hour.
