Worth Co. High School Georgia’s Future Educators and SkillsUSA’s Signing Day

SYLVESTER, Ga. – Worth County High School recently took part in Georgia’s Future Educators and SkillsUSA’s Signing Day, with the goal of igniting enthusiasm and encouraging students to pursue careers in education.

Larabeth Fritzler and Eyan Zupko were among the signees, each sharing their future aspirations and the reasons behind their chosen career paths.

“I plan to attend ABAC, Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. I have gone through the program with Miss Burrell, and I have absolutely loved that class. Miss Watson at the primary school has definitely help me decide what career I did want to go into. But, I did know that I wanted to go into education for a while. Especially ag (agriculture), and then the FFA program is also really nice too,” said Larabeth Fritzler, signee, Georgia Future Educators.

“I chose to go down physics. It’s a way to see how things interact, how things work. There’s a lot of fun things like kinematics. Which includes projectile motion, which is something cool. If you’re looking at a football game and you’re wondering why does a football move how it moves, it moves in two ways: aerodynamics and projectile motion. And, those are some things that interest me,” said Eyan Zupko, signee, SkillsUSA.

Representing nearly 400,000 career and technical education students and educators nationwide, SkillsUSA chapters flourish in middle schools, high schools, and post-secondary institutions. These chapters integrate personal, workplace, and technical skills that are rooted in the classroom curriculum.

“SkillsUSA actually encompasses just about every pathway that the state offers in CTAE. And so we have students in welding, students and construction are part of SkillsUSA, automotive, graphic design, film production. We even have some health care, student architecture and drafting. I mean, really, there’s something for everybody in skills. I also have several students that have been with me since their sophomore year, and they have competed in all kinds of different contests they’ve placed in all these contests. And, so a lot of them are actually getting jobs right out of school, making really good money. I can’t tell you one of the students that I’m not proud of, like I’ve just seen them all grow,” said Sabrina Zupko, Worth County High School, SkillsUSA Advisor.

Eyan Zupko shared insight on the importance of education, highlighting its significant role in shaping one’s future.

“Education isn’t just being in a classroom, it’s also apprenticeships, going and doing on the job training different things that you learn from, you get educated with and those are important for the end goal of what you’re trying to do, whether it is weld, whether is become an engineer, physicist. It’s to help you grow in both what you know and what you don’t know,” said Zupko.
