Warnock: “Your vote is your voice, your voice is your human dignity”
Senator Warnock hosts meet and greet in the Good Life City
ALBANY, GA- Many Albany citizens rallied Monday in support of Georgia U.S. Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock (D) as he stopped in the Good Life City on his “Working for Georgia” bus tour.
“I’m so glad to be able to wake up every single morning thinking about what I can do for the people of Georgia” says Warnock. “It is the honor of my life to stand up for hard working families.”
The Senator says he plans to continue his fighting effort citing the recent Inflation Reduction Act.
“Which caps the cost of prescription drugs for senior, so that people like my mother who is 85 years old doesn’t have to choose between buying medicine and buying groceries….if the Republicans had not blocked us we would’ve capped insulin for those on private insurance as well. But if you send me back to the United States senate I will not rest until we cap insulin” the Senator explained.
Additionally, Warnock touched on the basis of the recently passed three bills that can help communities like Albany with affordable housing.
Warnock told South Georgia Television News, “One of those helps people who are paying more than a third of their income on rent… the other helps people set up savings accounts so that they can save to buy a home… and then the third holds private developers who receive federal tax credits accountable for whether or not they are actually producing or providing affordable housing.”
In anticipation of the November election, Warnock says now, more than ever voters especially women, should use their voice at the polls, saying:
“Your vote is your voice and your voice is your human dignity… a lot is on the line right now… a woman’s right to choose is on the line… my opponent has said that he is against reproductive choice… so I think the women of Georgia need to see if that’s who they want representing them in the United States Senate”
The Reverend pointed out during his rally that he and his opponent, Republican candidate Herschel Walker, have different viewpoints on certain issues. However, he says this race is about who is ready to represent Georgians and have their best interests at hand.
“The differences between me and my opponent almost couldn’t be more stark and this race is about who’s ready to represent the people of Georgia. I’m proud of my record passing tax cuts for middle and working class families, the bipartisan infrastructure bill, capping the cost of prescription drugs for seniors and insulin for those on medicare, and finally getting medicare the ability to negotiate with big Pharma, and I look forward to having that conversation” Warnock explained.
