Volunteers to honor local veterans during Wreaths Across America Day
ALBANY, Ga. – Volunteers in Albany are preparing to honor local heroes this December during Wreaths Across America Day. American Legion Post 30 and Auxiliary Unit 30 will host a dedication ceremony at Crown Hill Cemetery on Saturday, December 13th at noon.
The event is part of a national tradition that aims to remember the fallen, honor those who served, and teach future generations the value of freedom.
Each $17 donation sponsors a live wreath to be placed on a veteran’s grave. This year, organizers hope to cover at least 400 graves across the cemetery.
Community members, clubs, and organizations are encouraged to help by sponsoring wreaths, volunteering, or simply attending the ceremony to show their support.
Donations can be made online at WreathsAcrossAmerica.org or dropped off at American Legion Post 30 on Gillionville Road. For more information, contact Marilyn Fowler at 229-347-3935.
