Volunteers needed for Flint River Fresh’s Compost Giveaway

ALBANY, Ga. – Flint River Fresh is hosting a Compost Giveaway, and they’re looking for a few helping hands!

This Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., neighbors, gardeners, and growers of all kinds are invited to stop by the 5th Avenue Community Garden to scoop up free compost, perfect for backyard gardens, school beds, or small farms.

Just bring your own shovels, bags, buckets – even a truck if you’ve got one! Extra bags will be available while supplies last. No appointment or registration needed.

Here’s where you can help… Flint River Fresh needs volunteers to lend a hand, helping neighbors load compost and keep things flowing. There are three shift options… 9 to 11, 11 to 1, or 1 to 3.
