Victorian Christmas Costume Closet set to open to the public inside City of Thomasville Visitors Center

THOMASVILLE, Ga. – The Victorian Christmas Costume Closet is officially scheduled to open to the public on Monday, November 24 inside the City of Thomasville Visitors Center, located at 144 East Jackson Street. Visitors are invited to step into the charm and nostalgia of a Victorian-era holiday and experience the magic of the season in traditional attire, perfect for joining in the festivities of Thomasville’s beloved Victorian Christmas event. The Costume Closet is open Monday–Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. through Saturday, December 6.

“Wearing Victorian attire adds a special sense of nostalgia and joy to our Victorian Christmas event,” said Brandy Avery, Community Engagement Manager for the City of Thomasville. “It’s heartwarming to see how many visitors return each year ready to dress up and join in the fun.”

The Costume Closet features a wide selection of men’s attire and women’s dresses to help attendees complete their Victorian look. Costumes are available to rent for $10 per person, plus a refundable $25 deposit, returned when the costume is dry cleaned and brought back with a cleaning receipt and attached tags. All rentals should be returned by Friday, January 16, 2026.

“We’re excited to offer such a variety of options for anyone wanting to elevate their holiday experience,” Avery added. “While costumes are available on a first-come, first-served basis, people are often surprised how easily they can create a Victorian-inspired outfit using items they already own.”

Victorian Christmas will take place in Downtown Thomasville on December 11 and 12 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. each evening. For additional details on the Victorian Christmas Costume Closet, please contact the City of Thomasville Visitors Center at (229) 228-7977.
