U.S. Marshals arrest one of four Bibb Co. escapees; three still at large

BIBB Co., Ga. – In a recent development, the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force informed the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office that they successfully apprehended one of four escaped inmates.

29-year-old Chavis Demaryo Stokes was captured in a residence in Montezuma at 2 p.m. on Thursday.

Stokes, including the three other inmates, managed to flee from the jail through a damaged day room window and a cut fence over a week ago.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the potential whereabouts of the remaining escapees to step forward and assist in their capture.
