Trooper First Class Chase Redner dies after being struck by car while investigating fatal pedestrian crash on I-75 in Clayton Co.

CLAYTON Co., Ga. – The Georgia Department of Public Safety and Georgia law enforcement mourns the loss of Trooper First Class Chase Redner #290, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty.

This morning, Redner was investigating a vehicle crash on Interstate 75 North, near Mount Zion Boulevard in Clayton county when he was struck by a vehicle.

Despite being rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, Redner died of his injuries. The investigation into the incident is being carried out by the Troop C Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team and remains ongoing.

Redner had been a dedicated member of the Georgia Department of Public Safety since September 2017, graduating from the 103rd Trooper School.
