CAIRO, Ga. – On February 16, 2026, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Deputy Jamar Brown with the Grady County Sheriff’s Office was conducting a routine business check on Highway 84 east of Cairo when he observed a suspicious vehicle in the area.
Deputy Brown initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as 29-year-old Zackery Tyler Rosell. During the investigation, it was determined that Rosell was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. He was placed under arrest at the scene.
A search of Rosell’s person resulted in the discovery of approximately 24 ounces of methamphetamine. Deputies also located digital scales inside the vehicle commonly used in the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics.
Rosell was transported to the Grady County Detention Center and charged with:
- Driving While License Suspended
- Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
- Possession of a Firearm/Knife During the Commission of a Crime
- Possession of Drug-Related Objects
Sheriff Martin Earl Prince issued the following statement:
“Let me be clear — if you are bringing drugs into Grady County, we are coming after you. This amount of methamphetamine indicates distribution, and we will aggressively target those who choose to poison our communities for profit. Our deputies are proactive, they are vigilant, and they will continue to enforce the law without hesitation. There will be zero tolerance for narcotics trafficking in this county.”
The Grady County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to aggressive enforcement efforts aimed at removing illegal drugs and those responsible for distributing them from our community.
