Today’s Weather Authority Forecast: July 6, 2021

Numerous thunderstorms are expected this afternoon-evening with locally heavy rainfall. Tropical Storm Elsa will continue to parallel the western coast of the FL peninsula the next 24-36 hours, reaching somewhere along the FL Big Bend on the latest forecast track by Wednesday. A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for some counties near GA/FL line including the Valdosta area. 1″-1.5″ of rainfall for western half of the area, 2″-3″+ for eastern counties through Thursday. Breezy conditions for most 15-25 mph, with gusts near TS force (39mph+) possible for those under the Tropical Storm Watches. Elsa quickly exits by Wednesday night or early Thursday. A return to more typical summertime weather by this weekend.
