Today’s Weather Authority Forecast: July 5, 2021

Thunderstorms become more numerous this afternoon-evening enhanced by a quasi-stationary front after being draped to our south throughout the holiday weekend. All eyes are on “Elsa.” Based on the latest forecast track, there is < 20% chance for sustained Tropical Storm force winds (39mph+) in south GA. Higher probabilities remain across the FL Peninsula/NE FL. The chances of Tropical Storm force winds are highly track dependent, so continue to monitor the very latest updates for any changes. For now, based on the latest forecast track, minimal impacts could occur mainly on Wednesday in the form of heavy downpours and breezy conditions 15-25 mph to occasionally 25-35 mph, especially for SE GA near Brunswick.
After “Elsa” exits, still lots of tropical moisture will linger to keep a good chance of showers/t-storms around for the rest of the week.
