Today’s Weather Authority Forecast: January 2, 2023
Happy New Year, everyone! Temperatures are running well above average and we’ll be back in the pea soup tonight as dense fog develops over the area.
If driving, slow down, allow for some extra time, use the low beam headlights, and leave plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front of you.
A strong cold front approaches that brings the potential for strong-severe thunderstorms starting tomorrow and continues on Wednesday as the front passes through.
A slight risk (level 2/5) of severe weather includes areas west of a line from Americus to Donalsonville on Tuesday with a marginal risk (level 1/5) for the entire area on Wednesday.
Damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph is the primary threat, but an isolated tornado or two cannot be ruled out! Stay tuned to South GA TV Weather Authority for future updates!
