Today’s Weather Authority Forecast: February 20, 2023
Happy Presidents’ Day. If you’ve had the day off, it’s been a warm, breezy day with fair skies.
Mostly cloudy overnight with possibly patchy fog, but that will become more of a concern Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Near record high temperatures this week! Some records set just last year could be in jeopardy! Highs are forecast to be 12-15 degrees above normal. Lows could be as high as 20 degrees above normal. For perspective, average high and low is 67/43 respectively.
A large high pressure ridge stretches from the Gulf of Mexico across the FL peninsula and over the western Atlantic.
Where do the records come from, you might ask? I do not have access to long standing weather information in a notebook like some stations do, so I go by the official NWS Tallahassee, FL’s daily climate summary website in which the period of record is from 1892-2023. The normals period is from 1991-2020.
Soak it in, folks! And, I don’t think we’re done with winter just yet!
