Today’s Weather Authority Forecast: February 2, 2023

Happy Groundhog Day! The prognosticators have spoken…the verdict is in…will it be six more weeks of winter or an early spring?

Well it depends on which groundhog you go with!

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow which means 6 more weeks of winter while General Beauregard Lee did not see his shadow which means an early spring!

Still awaiting our local prognosticator “Asante the meerkat” at Chehaw’s predictions…

Rain, possibly thunder overnight through Friday morning.

Morning rain Friday gives way to partial clearing in the afternoon.

The threat of severe weather has been taken out of our area and forecast rainfall totals have come down a bit, generally 1/2″-1″ is expected.

Much cooler and drier this weekend.

Patchy frost is possible on Saturday morning if winds turn calm.

Breezy on Saturday.

Temperatures are trending above average for much of next week…80 degrees may not be totally out of the realm of possibility!
