Today’s Weather Authority Forecast: December 29, 2022

Happy Thursday! The warming trend holds. Watch out for areas of patchy morning fog!
Tonight Tomorrow
A storm system approaches late Friday-New Year’s Eve with widespread showers and a few thunderstorms.
The models show more widespread heavier totals, and with such a moisture-loaded system, pockets of 1″-3″ remains possible.
The progressive nature of this storm system should limit any flooding potential to just minor, nuisance urban flooding of streets and low-lying areas.
Rainfall Weekend
New Year’s Eve should see improving conditions with a mild start to the new year as the clock strikes midnight!
Nye
After a quiet start to the new year, another storm system heads our way with long hours of deep, tropical moisture pulled out of the Gulf of Mexico ahead of it.
There is also the threat of multiple rounds of heavy rainfall, and potential for flash flooding for several days next week.
Minor river flooding may be a concern depending on how much rainfall we receive and how fast it falls.
