Tifton’s Syd Blackmarr Arts Center hosts 6th Annual Kids Art Camp
TIFTON, Ga. – The future Picassos of tomorrow!
Earlier today, Tifton’s Syd Blackmarr Arts Center hosted its 6th Annual Kids Art Camp, which is taking place twice this summer.
Cindy Hammond, the President of the Tifton Council for the Arts, expressed her excitement for the children to engage in art activities rather than spending time at the arcade.
“We love all categories of people with art, beginners, and professionals. They all come, but for us, for art in the community, it brings the community together,” said Cindy Hammond, President and CEO, Tifton Council for the Arts.

The volunteers began by leading the kids through some stretching exercises before diving into the creative process.
A few of the young artists already had clear ideas about their favorite types of creations to make.
“I like doing oil pastels and using acrylic paint,” said Eva Masias.
“I’m taking some tissue paper and gluing them on some paper and gluing the edges to the-paper,” said Croix Shearer.
“Cause I’m good at it,” said Cayden Webster, Pointillism.
While registration is presently closed for this year’s art camp, rest assured that it will return next summer.
Eva emphasizes a compelling reason why those who are uncertain should still consider signing up and attending art camp.
“Would tell them that it would be ok, because the first time I was nervous too, because I was new. I town and I, I would say it’s ok that your nervous but just know you going to have a lot of fun,” said Masias.
