Tifton’s Rhythm and Ribs Festival set for March 1st
TIFTON, Ga. – A flavorful tradition is firing up once again in Tifton, bringing a weekend filled with great food, live entertainment, and family fun.
Tifton’s largest annual barbecue festival, the Rhythm and Ribs Festival, returns to The Friendly City on February 28th from 6 pm to 10 pm and Saturday, March 1st from 10 am to 10 pm. This year’s festival will feature everything from delectable barbecue to live entertainment, making it a weekend you won’t want to miss.
“The Tifton Rhythm and Ribs Festival has been going on for over ten years in the heart of downtown Tifton. It originally was created by Think Tifton or Tifton Tourism and a community volunteer program called outreach marketing group, where a group of individuals from across the community that just love having fun, love bringing the community together. They gathered and helped to create this event for everyone to enjoy,” said Hillery Culpepper, Main Street Manager, Downtown Tifton.
Hillery Culpepper, Downtown Tifton Main Street Manager, provides insight into the variety of food and live music resident’s can enjoy at this year’s event.
“We definitely encourage everybody to show up hungry, ready to eat and to have lots of fun. And we’ll have professional and backyard barbecue teams cooking live on the spot. Tons of food trucks will be there as well. A lot of kids activities, live music will be happening every single second of the day. One of the biggest highlights that we are excited to feature this year is our kids cooking competition. And, so, the kids cooking competition, we have two age brackets for that, 7 to 11 and then 12 to 16. Again, it’s free for children to participate in. We’ve had a lot of young chefs sign up for our younger age bracket, but we’re definitely looking for more competitors for our age bracket of 12 to 16. And the deadline for that to sign up is next Wednesday and the winners will be announced that Saturday at 4 p.m.,” said Culpepper.
The City of Tifton invites residents to immerse themselves in the aroma of sizzling barbecue, savor the local flavors, and enjoy the lively music that fills the air.
“We encourage everybody just to show up, your age doesn’t matter. Rhythm and Ribs is a free community event where we offer family fun for everyone,” said Culpepper.
The Rhythm and Ribs Festival will be held at Fulwood Park in Tifton, located at 817 Prince Avenue.
