Tifton’s Hometown Holidays 2025 Celebration Postponed to Dec 13th due to Inclement Weather

Holiday Cheer is still here in Tifton this year, despite the rainy weather, and we look forward to seeing everyone at our upcoming events and rescheduled parade Saturday, December 13th.

TIFTON, Ga. – Due to inclement weather expected on Saturday, December 6, the difficult but informed decision has been made to postpone the Tifton Hometown Holidays Parade until next Saturday, December 13, 2025.

This decision has been made with the safety and enjoyment of our citizens, visitors, and staff as a top priority.

The rescheduled parade on December 13 will begin at 5:00pm and follow the traditional route. City staff will release a parade map in the coming days for citizens to view.

The Tifton Hometown Holidays Parade Committee made the final decision to postpone the celebration late Tuesday afternoon based upon the latest weather forecasts for Saturday, with many projections showing a 90% chance of precipitation in the afternoon on the 6th.

This thoughtful decision was made as early as possible in the week in consideration to the schedule changes and travel arrangements for out-of-state carnival ride and attraction suppliers that planned to be in attendance on December 6.

Due to rescheduling, festival aspects such as carnival rides, the ice skating rink, and vendors will not be available on December 13. However, the City of Tifton urges residents to stay tuned to City news sources, as these attractions will be brought to the Tifton community with a new celebration in winter 2026.

All vendors and parade entries will be notified immediately by Downtown Tifton’s Main Street Manager regarding the updates to this year’s festival.

Although our original celebration plans have changed, we are thankful that our beloved community parade will continue on December 13 and a new celebration will take place in our community in winter 2026 for our citizens to enjoy.
