Tifton fatal drive-by shooting under investigation
The Tifton Police Department has requested the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) Sylvester Field Office to assist with the investigation.
TIFTON, Ga. – On Monday, July 31, 2023 at approximately 8:36 pm, Tifton Police Department officers responded to 1709 Belleview Circle in response to reports of gunshots and a person being shot. Arriving at the scene, officers discovered that two males had been shot during a drive-by shooting. Tift County EMS rushed both individuals to Tift Regional Medical Center to receive medical attention for their injuries.
The victims were later identified as Alex Troy Knighton (43) and Keymontravious De’shawn Bryant (18), both of Tifton. Alex Troy Knighton succumbed to his injuries. Keymontravious De’shawn Bryant is listed in stable condition.
