Tift Theatre for Performing Arts presents “The Play That Goes Wrong” this Friday and Saturday evening

TIFTON, Ga. – The stage is set and the actors are ready as the Tift Theater is bringing….Well, I guess you could say organized chaos with their latest production of “The Play That Goes Wrong.”

The play delivers non-stop laughs as a group of amateur actors attempt to stage a classic “whodunnit,” the murder at Haversham Manor. But… as the title suggests, everything that can go wrong, does, leading to a night of unexpected chaos and comedy.

“I’m not going to give away any of the good parts, but we have a great cast. I was fortunate that I was the one who chose the cast. I was the one who held the auditions. I knew some of the people from working with them out of ABAC or here in the shows I did here. But, I had complete strangers that I did not know to come in to audition, and so I had to whittle it down. But, if they were cast in a major role, I offered them that to be a part of the crew, and they are very vital to the show as well,” said Craig Wells, Director, “The Play That Goes Wrong.”

Director, Craig Wells, along with the cast and crew of “The Play That Goes Wrong,” has put in countless hours to ensure this production is nothing short of spectacular.

“I have had three rehearsals a week from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. We’ve been working on the set. We’ve been up here on the weekends. I’m sure this weekend and all of next week, which is tech week, we’ll be putting the finishing touches on the set,” said Wells.

Craig Wells and the Tift Theatre extends their gratitude to everyone who played a role in bringing this production to life.

“I’ve been very fortunate to have some people in the cast and not in the cast or people who are in the theater community who have come out to help us. Not only helped build the set, but they’ll be helping with concessions and the box office and leading people to their seats and things like that. So, it’s been fun and I appreciate what they’ve done,” said Wells.

Residents are invited to come out and support local actors and talent while enjoying a night filled with laughter, entertainment, and community fun.

“Well, our show will be (this) Friday, the 28th, and (this) Saturday, the 29th at 7 pm and our tickets are $10 for adults and you can use purple pass or you can buy your tickets at the door,” said Wells.

Tickets for the show can be purchased at tifttheatre.com
