Three former daycare workers arrested and charged with alleged child abuse by Lee Co. Sheriff’s Office
Lee County, GA — In September 2025, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office was notified by a parent of possible child abuse that allegedly occurred at a local daycare facility, formerly known as Just Kidding Daycare on Cedric Street. Our Special Victim’s Unit (SVU) Investigators immediately began an extensive investigation into the allegations.
Through the course of the investigation, investigators determined that the incident met the criminal threshold for child abuse. Investigators also discovered that the previous daycare owner and a daycare supervisor failed to report the abuse to the proper authorities despite being mandated reporters under Georgia law.
As a result of the investigation, three individuals have been arrested in connection with this case:
• Sarah Luke — Charged with Cruelty to Children in the 2nd Degree
• Cristi Hall (Daycare Supervisor) — Charged with Tampering with Evidence and Failure to Report Child Abuse
• Nicholas Moore (Former Daycare Owner) — Charged with Failure to Report Child Abuse
Moore, Hall, and Luke were all arrested during an enforcement operation this morning and taken to the Lee County Jail for processing.
Under Georgia law, mandated reporters are required to report suspected child abuse immediately. Mandated reporters include, but are not limited to:
• Physicians, interns, residents, hospital or medical personnel, dentists, and nurses
• Psychologists, professional counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists
• School teachers, administrators, school counselors, school social workers, and school personnel
• Child care personnel and daycare employees
• Law enforcement officers and juvenile justice personnel
• Members of the clergy or ministers (with limited exceptions related to privileged communication)
• Child service organization personnel
• Domestic violence shelter personnel
• Volunteers and employees of organizations that provide services to children
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office takes all reports of child abuse extremely seriously. Protecting the safety and well-being of children in our community remains a top priority. Anyone who suspects child abuse is urged to report it immediately to law enforcement or the Georgia Division of Family & Children Services.
This investigation remains active, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
