Tax credits to benefit new businesses & create more jobs in Moultrie

Moultrie rural tax agreement

MOULTRIE, Ga. – Moultrie is calling all business owners and investors as their rural zone tax credits could save potential owners thousands on Georgia taxes.

“If you were to purchase a piece of property you could get an equivalent of 25 percent of what you purchased property for in Georgia state tax credit,” said Amy Johnson, Director of Economic Development, Moultrie.

Director Johnson tells me that local businesses in downtown areas are thriving.

“Locally owned businesses are doing very well in general across the nation, downtown’s are very hot across the nation. People like to get that personal service,” she said.

Creating jobs is the focus of the rural tax agreement in Moultrie.

“All of that is hinged on creating jobs so each job is worth two thousand dollars for Georgia state tax credits,” she said.

Moultrie was awarded Georgian Downtown of the Year in 2022.

“We’re doing a lot of things and we encourage anyone that’s interested in the program to give our office a call,” she said.
