Suspect in custody, victim identified in deadly Tifton shooting
TIFTON, Ga. – In other local news, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has arrested and charged 38-year-old Wayne Doyle of Tifton with various offenses including malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, attempted removal of a weapon from an officer, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with the death of 39-year-old Anzley Gandy.
According to the investigation, Tift County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to West 21st Street following reports of a deceased individual and another person with a gunshot wound. Gandy was pronounced dead at the scene, while the injured victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
An autopsy on Gandy will be conducted at the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office in the Central Regional Lab. Doyle was apprehended at the scene and booked into the Tift County Jail.
