Suspect in custody after manhunt in Turner Co.
ASHBURN, Ga. – A suspect who fled on foot after a vehicle pursuit is now in custody, according to the Turner County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO).
TCSO deputy attempted to stop a vehicle in the area of Bussey Road when the vehicle’s license plate number was flagged as stolen.
The driver then fled the scene from the deputy on foot into nearby woods resulting in a manhunt.
Law enforcement apprehended the suspect after requesting the assistance from Georgia State Patrol (GSP) Post 30, Georgia State Patrol (GSP) Aviation Division including a helicopter joining the search, Motor Carrier Compliance, Ashburn Police Department, Crisp County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and the public.
TCSO has not released any additional information on the suspect, where the vehicle is stolen from, or a list of any charges at this time.
