Suspect arrested in Cordele, victim identified in Wednesday shooting in Ocilla

Halique Jordan Jr, 18, of Ocilla was arrested around 1:00 P.M. this afternoon in Cordele, GA in connection to the death of Robert A. Wilcox, 26, of Ocilla.

OCILLA, Ga. – According to a press release by the Ocilla Police Department, an arrest has been made and the victim identified in connection with the shooting Roosevelt Avenue shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon in Ocilla.

Halique Jordan Jr, 18, of Ocilla was arrested around 1:00 P.M. this afternoon in Cordele, GA in connection to the death of Robert A. Wilcox, 26, of Ocilla.

The Ocilla Police Department would like to thank the community and supporting agencies for their assistance during this investigation.

According to a press release by the Ocilla Police Department, on Wednesday, June 7th, at 6:15 P.M. officers with the Ocilla Police Department were dispatched to a gunshot victim.

Upon arrival in the 400 block of North Roosevelt Street, officers located the gunshot victim in the yard unresponsive.

Irwin County Emergency Medical Services arrived and found the victim had passed away.

The Ocilla Police Department contacted the Georgia Bureau of Investigation who is responding to the scene.
